Mecklenburg Permits Fall
A 50 percent jump in condo permits couldn't offset a steep drop in single-family building permits last month as Mecklenburg's new home construction continued to slide.

Total permits for new home construction were down 21 percent in February compared with a year earlier. Single-family construction, the largest category, was down 37 percent, according to county data.

February marked the 13th consecutive month of double-digit declines in Mecklenburg new home permits.
